Announcement of the Winners of King Abdullah II Awards for Excellence - 6/6/2011
His Majesty King Abdullah II presented awards to the winners of the King Abdullah II Awards for Excellence in the Public, Private and Business Associations sectors at the Business Park Auditorium. His Majesty distributed the Awards on the winners with the attendance of HRH Prince Feisal Bin Al-Hussein, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Abdullah II Centre for Excellence (KACE), Prime Minister Dr. Marouf Al-Bakhit, ministers, Board of Trustees members and other public and private officials.

 

"King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency"

 

Seventy Eight (78) Ministries and Public Institutions competed for the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency, in its fifth cycle (2010/2011).

 

Twenty two (22) ministries competed (participated) under the categories of ministries, where seventeen (17) of them competed under the category of ministries Participating More Than Once, while five (5) of them competed under the category of Ministries Participating for the First Time.

 

On the other hand fifty six (56) Public Institutions participated in the category of the Best Public Institutions , where forty five (45) of them competed under the category of Public Institutions Participating More Than Once, while eleven (11) of them competed under the category of Public Institutions s Participating for the First Time.

 

"Distinguished Government Employee"

 

One hundred and ninety two (192) government distinguished employees were nominated this cycle to compete for the Distinguished Government Employee Awards, where twenty two (22) of them were nominated from ministries and fifty six (56) were nominated from other public institutions. Meanwhile eighty four (84) of the nominees qualified for the interviewing phase, nomination on each category were clustered as follows:

 

Sixty five (65) of the employees were nominated on the category of the Distinguished Leading / Supervising Employee Award, where twenty eight (28) of them were qualified for the interviewing phase.

 

On the other hand Sixty three (63) of the employees were nominated on the category of the Distinguished Administrative / Technical Employee Award, where twenty two (22) of them were qualified for the interviewing phase.

 

And last but not least Sixty four (64) of the employees were nominated on the category of the Distinguished Support Employee Award, where thirty four (34) of them were qualified for the interviewing phase.

 

"King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for Private Sector"

 

Meanwhile the King Abdullah II Award for the Private Sector fifty one (51) organizations and companies divided into six categories, where twenty five (25) of them were qualified for competition. Five (5) organizations competed under the category of Large Service Organizations, while another six (6) organizations competed under the category of Large Manufacturing Organizations. As for the Small or Medium Size Manufacturing Organizations; four (4) of them competed, while another eight (8) competed under the category of Small or Medium- Size Service Organizations.

 

"King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for Business Associations"

 

As for the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence for Business Associations, two associations achieved the first stage of the Award which is the “Mark of Best Practice".

 

It is worth mentioning that KACE has designed in the last cycle a large sized trophie, for each winning organization, that was placed at the entrance of each of the winning Ministries and Public Institutions that participated for more than once and received the golden award such as the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation and REYADA Development and Employment Fund. Those trophies will be delivered this cycle also to the winning ministries and public institutions to be placed at their entrances.
